#Our environmental policy The environmental impact of the Group’s operations is relatively low in comparison to that of the entire value chain. The reduction of greenhouse gas emissions is achieved in two ways: the energy performance of buildings and that of transportation, which account for 36% and 64% of direct emissions respectively. In 2017, direct emissions were reduced by 4.3%, indirect emissions by 19.2%. This reduction reflects the efforts that Rexel has made to improve

the energy performance of its locations, thanks in particular to the generalization of LED lighting and the installation of consumption monitoring systems. At the same time, the carbon footprint of transportation was reduced thanks to pooled deliveries, the increased use of subcontracting and shared transportation, as well as special attention paid to transportation companies’ environmental performances and the modernization of the Group’s vehicle fleet.
