The Faculty of Science at VU Amsterdam encourages scientists and students to find sustainable solutions to the complex social issues of this day and age. With great dedication, we practice science addressing every manner of subject, from forest fires to big data, from obesity to medication, and from molecules to the moon. The collaboration between scientists working on fundamental and applied research allows communities to be built beyond the borders of the various disciplines, following new and innovative pathways.

Why study at this faculty? Our dedication is passed on to our students, who are in direct contact with the professors in their field. Our vibrant campus is a place where knowledge and experience are shared among an international community of students, doctoral candidates and scientists.

Your future career We educate the cyber security specialists and data scientists, the business analytics professionals and business innovators, the climate change scientists and global health experts and the technology game changers of the future.

I chose AI because I wanted a truly interdisciplin- a ry programme. This expectation was more than fulfilled, I found the classes very diverse and stimu lating. Almost all of our classes include group projects, which helped me find friends even though I was sitting hundreds of miles from campus behind my computer. I joined study asso cia tion STORM and the Student Ambassadors team to get more involved in university life, and I

can say it was well worth it.
