The Faculty of Religion and Theology at VU Amsterdam is the academic knowledge centre for religion and the biggest experimental theological laboratory in Europe. We are at the service of students, journalists and pastors, government bodies and policymakers, social organisations and religious communities. We are there for those who want to know what motivates people.

Why study at this faculty? When you choose for the faculty of Theology and Religious Studies, you enter the rich and fascinating world of religion and faith. In our Bachelor s Theology and Religious Studies, you investigate religious and social themes and gain a solid foundation in the principles of religions and theology.

When I started my Bachelor s in Theology at VU Amsterdam, I could not have predicted how much I would learn about different views of religion. Through the courses you get to study your own, and others , ideas and belief systems, which has greatly enlarged my thinking. In addition, learning with and from a diverse group of students, from many different backgrounds and stages of life, has inspired me greatly.
